The Biosafety Committee usually meets the third Tuesday of the month. Committee meetings are a luncheon format during which all biosafety level 2 and higher projects are reviewed in detail.

Biosafety level 1 (BSL1) projects are reviewed in depth by the IBC staff. Committee members are provided the opportunity to examine individual BSL1 projects at the time of the meeting.
